Never judge a book by its coverElizabeth does it again, every time she releases a book I instantly fall in love。 There's depth and meaning to her characters not one sided unlike others。 For example Hayes from the outside looks like he has it all but in Tali's eyes he's an arrogant jerk。 As the story progresses she realizes there's much more to this man than meets the eye。 I don't want to give out too much but this is definitely worth it and recommend。 Never judge a book by its coverElizabeth does it again, every time she releases a book I instantly fall in love。 There's depth and meaning to her characters not one sided unlike others。 For example Hayes from the outside looks like he has it all but in Tali's eyes he's an arrogant jerk。 As the story progresses she realizes there's much more to this man than meets the eye。 I don't want to give out too much but this is definitely worth it and recommend。 。。。more

I truly enjoyed Tali and Hayes, great chemistry and learning few the banter they had gong on。 I gave 4 should be 4。5 I just don't know how to do the half。 I just wished author elaborated more in the beginning。 It started kind of slow with their interaction, it wasn't enough for me。 Overall this is a really fun and romantic read for me。 I truly enjoyed Tali and Hayes, great chemistry and learning few the banter they had gong on。 I gave 4 should be 4。5 I just don't know how to do the half。 I just wished author elaborated more in the beginning。 It started kind of slow with their interaction, it wasn't enough for me。 Overall this is a really fun and romantic read for me。 。。。more

This is Ms O'Roark at the very top of her game and I've been a fan for awhile。 Absolutely loved Hayes and Tali's love story。 The banter was top notch and the chemistry was unreal。 You said it took you a year to write this book, but I really think this was well worth the wait! The angst! Dear lord! She broke the ice! This is my first book by this author and I'm delighted it was recommended to me。 It shouldn't be called an enemies-to- lovers romance as they were never truly enemies。 They were really just scared and distrustful as they'd both been crushed before。He is a very successful, demanding plastic surgeon rolling in money and women。 She is a very unsuccessful author up to her ears in her family's debts and ramen noodles。 She pinch hits, grudgingly, for her best friend who is H's perso She broke the ice! This is my first book by this author and I'm delighted it was recommended to me。 It shouldn't be called an enemies-to- lovers romance as they were never truly enemies。 They were really just scared and distrustful as they'd both been crushed before。He is a very successful, demanding plastic surgeon rolling in money and women。 She is a very unsuccessful author up to her ears in her family's debts and ramen noodles。 She pinch hits, grudgingly, for her best friend who is H's personal assistant。 Their banter from that point is hilarious。 Neither one wants to admit their attraction, so they labor at staying emotionally distant。 Their sniping is clever and entertaining。 Did I mention he's British?I hope there are more books with this level of comedy and maybe one tear thrown in。 I can't wait for Drew's story。 。。。more

I had know idea once I started reading this book how addictive it would be and how impossible it would be to pull myself away from reading it (which by the way, I didn't because I couldn't wait to find out what would happen next。) Elizabeth O'Rourke truly outdid herself with this amazing enemies to lovers romance that is not only full of some really good slow burn chemistry but also hot sexy times as well as serious issues, family drama, trust issues and so so much more! I really didn't know what to think of Hayes at first, he really did make me question if I would like him as the hero of this story, he starts off the devil as the title suggests, but it wasn't long before I was drooling over him just as much as Tali was。 I absolutely loved the snarky banter between these two and that things progressed a little slower as Hayes and Tali truly got to know one another。 You could feel the heat coming off the Kindle with these two and it is smokin。 The storyline is truly fantastic and if you are going to choose one romance book to read this year I highly recommend A Deal With the Devil be that read!!!! 。。。more

4 stars。 Missing 1 star because it is only one POV。 I wish we could see H POV。 I always imagined what he would be thinking 🤔。 Everything else was perfect。 Loved the heroine。 She is amazing and the way she cares about her family is very heart warming。

5 Hayes and Tali StarsI loved this enemies to lovers / Boss -Employee romance。 It was a real slow burn (they don't get intimate until about three quarters of the way into the novel) but there is plenty of simmering chemistry sparking between Hayes and Tali to keep your attention plus there is an interesting story behind both of them so the story never dragged for me。 And also , the slow burn in this case , was absolutely worth it。 When Hayes and Tali finally connect it is deliciously intense。 5 Hayes and Tali StarsI loved this enemies to lovers / Boss -Employee romance。 It was a real slow burn (they don't get intimate until about three quarters of the way into the novel) but there is plenty of simmering chemistry sparking between Hayes and Tali to keep your attention plus there is an interesting story behind both of them so the story never dragged for me。 And also , the slow burn in this case , was absolutely worth it。 When Hayes and Tali finally connect it is deliciously intense。 I’ve always had a fair amount of self-control, but one lingering look from him, one low note in his voice, and I feel like I’m another kind of girl entirely。Hayes (about 34 ish) is a British plastic surgeon to the stars of LA。 He becomes Tali's temporary boss when she reluctantly steps in for her friend when he has to take a leave of absence。 They constantly spark off of one another and their dialogue is hilarious。 Tali is a very likeable heroine。 At 24 she is an aspiring author but the story of how she came to be in Hollywood from Kansas is an interesting one and pivotal to who she is now and what her aims are。 She is loyal , funny , witty and pretty kick ass really。 And ultimately she 'gets' people , specifically Hayes。 She reads him well , most of the time。 I loved how she stood up to him。 "I know he goes out of his way to appear distant and intimidating…I just didn’t realize people actually bought the act。"Hayes is the perfect edgy Hero。 He is cultured , clever, compassionate , grumpy , moody , sexy , quick witted and also , a little bit broken。 I would highly recommend this book。 It was so enjoyable and the characters are interesting and endearing。 It's a really good read。 At times it reminded me of Ghosted by JM Darhower , Dear Enemy by Kristen Callihan and By a Thread by Lucy Score。 It has all kinds of themes running through it but it's very much its own story。 HEA? Yes, more HFN but you can sign up to the author's newsletter and get a gorgeous extra epilogue。 Cheating? No (view spoiler)[At the start , Hayes is sleeping with a different woman / women every night。 He has absolutely NO emotional connection to any of them。 This soon changes as he realises he likes Tali。 No on page sex with OW for him or OM for Tali。 (hide spoiler)] 。。。more

It’s such a pleasure and joy to discover new authors whose writing jibe with my personal preference and enjoyment。 Ms。 O’Roark is one of these authors。The chemistry between the leads, Tali and Hayes, is brimming with heat and witty banter, my attention never wavered from start to finish。 It goes to show that in the hands of a capable writer, the old and tried trope in contemporary romance of enemies to lovers and boss-employee, could have a new and exciting spin that is an enjoyable read。 Give t It’s such a pleasure and joy to discover new authors whose writing jibe with my personal preference and enjoyment。 Ms。 O’Roark is one of these authors。The chemistry between the leads, Tali and Hayes, is brimming with heat and witty banter, my attention never wavered from start to finish。 It goes to show that in the hands of a capable writer, the old and tried trope in contemporary romance of enemies to lovers and boss-employee, could have a new and exciting spin that is an enjoyable read。 Give this book a try。 It’s a bonus it’s on KU too。 。。。more

One of my favorite romance tropes is the enemies-to-lovers storyline, and this one definitely fit the bill。 Awesome chemistry between Hayes and Tali, it's all snarky and hilarious banter, and the more time they spend around each other, the sexual tension they share grows more and more。 The more I read, the more I wanted to know about both Tali and Hayes, and I couldn't wait to see how they managed to work through their own personal issues and potentially reach their HEA。 One of my favorite romance tropes is the enemies-to-lovers storyline, and this one definitely fit the bill。 Awesome chemistry between Hayes and Tali, it's all snarky and hilarious banter, and the more time they spend around each other, the sexual tension they share grows more and more。 The more I read, the more I wanted to know about both Tali and Hayes, and I couldn't wait to see how they managed to work through their own personal issues and potentially reach their HEA。 。。。more

Wow。 I started this and couldn’t put it down。 I love the story of Tali and Hayes。 Tali’s sass, Hayes’ somewhat loud demeanor…Elizabeth O’Roark even had me CRYING! But they were some of the happiest tears I’ve released while reading。 Great job。 But I want more Elizabeth!!!!!
Katarina,
DNF I tried but I just couldn’t get into it, it started at such an odd point, there is no information or background given about the characters and I honestly felt lost。 No chemistry, or character development leading it to be incredibly surface level。 It needed more of literally everything。

It has been a while since I read something so light, something so absolutely perfect for me, something which would leave me feeling utterly content。💕🤗The characters weren't overbearing, flimsy or overly perfect。 Hayes wasn't someone who didn't believe in the idea of love or was an utter asshole。 He was imperfect with edges that glistened and were only sharp to look at but not enough to cut。 There was something he said to Tali which struck me a lot; he said he liked complaining to her even when It has been a while since I read something so light, something so absolutely perfect for me, something which would leave me feeling utterly content。💕🤗The characters weren't overbearing, flimsy or overly perfect。 Hayes wasn't someone who didn't believe in the idea of love or was an utter asshole。 He was imperfect with edges that glistened and were only sharp to look at but not enough to cut。 There was something he said to Tali which struck me a lot; he said he liked complaining to her even when he's loving it。 That's something so relatable because I do that a lot。 I will whine over unnecessary things cause it's easier than sometimes showing the overwhelming emotions you're feeling (ok am being sappy over here but whatev😖)Tali is someone who I want to be, someone cool, someone who has immense self respect and poise。 She handled situations with her head most of the time and that's something so rare in heroines😒。 I understood her reluctance to completely give in to Hayes and I admire her for that。 🙌I will admit that I wasn't expecting much from the story especially with the whole manwhore hero thing that has been done to death but the author weaved the story so beautifully that I found myself caught in the web and I was enjoying being sucked in it。 'A Deal with the Devil' is a story about giving second chances to love, healing together and overcoming trust issues patching each other broken wings and flying hand in hand later towards the sunset with slightly bruised feathers being replaced by new ones。 ❤️🙏✨“It’s going to be hard enough standing next to a bunch of actresses and models。 I figured some makeup was necessary。”His eyes flicker over my face。 “You’re prettier than any of them even without makeup,” he says gruffly。“Thank you,” I whisper, but I’m not sure he even hears it as he turns on his heel and walks away。 I watch him go, and something begins to flutter in my chest。 If I didn’t know any better, I’d think it was hope。✨ 。。。more

A Deal With The Devil by Elizabeth O'Roark is a delight, at times poignant and evocative, always charming, and will keep you HOOKED from start to finish! Tali is a firecracker!
